Water Management and Erosion Control

Erosion Control Sock
One of the best methods on the market for water management and erosion control is the Erosion Control Sock. Quite simply, this filtration sock is a polyethylene netting filled with Expanded Shale. When laid, it will separate water from silt, sand and other runoff contaminates such as oil, grease and heavy metals.

What Erosion Control Socks can do:
  • Slow down stream bank erosion by slowing down the water velocity during high water runoff.
  • Can be used at construction sites to stop silt flow from migrating into the storm water drains and nearby streams. After the work is done the socks can be easily removed, and cleaned to be used in another project thereby reducing costs.
Advantages of using Expanded Shale in water management:
  • Expanded Shale is naturally frost-free (unlike straw and other vegetative erosion control methods)
  • Will not break-down
  • Environmentally friendly
  • Reusable

Erosion Control Socks are available in diameters of 6 inch, 9 inch and 12 inch and by lengths of 4 foot, 6 foot, 8 foot and 10 foot.  If you require a custom-size, please contact us. Erosion Control Socks are locally produced in the Okanagan.
